Join us for a night with artist, animator and curator Xander Marro, for a showcase of her work (much of it on 16mm), and other films created at her Providence, RI art space, the Dirt Palace. Xander in person! ∆ Filmmaker Xander Marro perhaps isn’t really a filmmaker so much as a jack-of-all trades type who loves analogue technology and fixing broken things, unless the broken thing is a leak, in which case 50/50 chance you are going to be wet. She’s been living the good life in the feminist sub-underground for too many years to count on her long bony fingers. Her work is often about spiritual relationships to the material stuff of this world. Co-founder of the Dirt Palace in 2000 (feminist cupcake encrusted netherworld located along the dioxin filled banks of the Woonasquatucket river, which is to say in Providence, RI USA). Her studio (and heart) is there still. This program presents a handful of her shorts alongside of a bunch of shorts made by past residents of the Dirt Palace.
