Anat Ebgi is pleased to announce After Each Night We Are Emptier, a group exhibition on view at 6150 Wilshire Blvd from November 15, 2025 – January 10, 2026. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, November 15 from 6-8 pm.The exhibition brings together a diverse, multigenerational group of artists—Eve Biddle, Veronica Fernandez, Simon Haas, Hayv Kahraman, Ragen Moss, Veronika Pausova, and Mary Ann Unger, whose works depict fragmented interpretations of the body. Through sculpture, painting, drawing, and installation, the artists consider the biological and societal forces that shape inner and collective consciousness. The exhibition traces formal and conceptual connection points between gestures and materials that register psychic and social tensions. Physicality and embodiment unfold through skins, spines, bones, and the eyes of consciousness. Downward or reflective gazes imply scenes unfolding beyond the frame—worlds away—suggesting secrecy, desire, and the limits of perception. Shifts between opacity and luminosity, heft and fragility, enact a dialogue between visible and hidden dimensions.Beneath this corporeality runs a metaphysical current, the idea that to exist—to take form—is to enter exile, to be cast out from undifferentiated states into the fraught realm of visibility, identity, classification. In their fractures, repetitions, and reciprocities, these works gesture toward the stillness that precedes the self—a return to the primordial void of origin. The exhibition envisions embodiment as a passage between being and shadow, between connection and obliteration.
