An evening of experimental music out of the USC Masters program, featuring work presented by APOLLA, Yumu, Warbler Ensemble, and Gari. APOLLA Instagram: @apollamusic APOLLA is a live electronic sound artist with a focus on immersive, interactive performance. Leveraging her background in Neuroscience, her passion is to curate environments where technology, nature, and art converge, i.e. using Max/MSP and bioelectric MIDI to create sound and visual responsive patch Yumu Instagram: @4xfeuille Yumu is a sound artist and curator whose work begins with listening as a way of understanding structure and change. Using live looping and real-time systems, she creates performances in which sound shapes space, movement, and attention in the moment. Across both stage and exhibition settings, she approaches listening as a way of building environments through sonic structure. Warbler Ensemble Instagram: @warbler_ensemble The Warbler Ensemble is a Los Angeles based new music ensemble presenting far-off sounds in nearby places. Founded by Gibson Mahnke and Evan Williams during their time at the USC Thornton School of Music, the Warbler Ensemble sponsors concerts of new music, as well as performs as an electro-acoustic duo. Gari Instagram: @i_make_sounds Gari (Chloe Villamayor) is a Filipino-American interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, whose work explores the role of the body in physicalizing the internal, intangible, and ephemeral. Her eclectic art-pop sound hybridizes classical composition training, hook-driven singer-songwriter sensibilities, experimental vocal techniques, and custom gesture-controlled technology through Max/MSP programming.
