At first his mother, Clara, shuts his questions down. But as the trial progresses, she begins to open up to her sons about a time in her life that she’s left buried for years.  **Peten, Guatemala, 1982** Sisters Clara and Elena hear about the armed conflict every day, but the violence somehow seems far away from their small village. But the day the fight comes to their doorstep, the sisters are separated and are forced to flee through the mountains, leaving them to wonder…Have their paths diverged forever? **Pablo Leon** is an author and artist from Guatemala, currently living in Los Angeles, California, and jumping between the TV animation and comics industries. His original comic, _The Journey_, an account of an unaccompanied child coming from Central America to the US, was a 2019 Eisner Award nominee, and he was the illustrator for the exciting middle grade graphic novel _Miles Morales: Shock Waves_ and its follow-up, _Stranger Tides_. He's worked with Disney, Warner Bros, and Nickelodeon, and when not working he enjoys cooking alongside his two helper cats, Agave and Moth. **Bryan Dimas** is an award-winning animation and live-action Producer, and advocate for DEI initiatives in the animation industry. He is the Line Producer, Development at Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. He began his career at DreamWorks Animation where his contributed to projects that include _The Boss Baby: Family Business_, _Trolls World Tour_, and Guillermo Del Toro’s _Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia,_ and _3Below: Tales of Arcadia._ He is the Founder of LatinX in Animation, where he develops and programs impactful industry initiatives and pipelines for underrepresented artists in the animation industry. As an independent producer, he produced the 2021 award-winning live-action short film _Frank & Emmet_, the 2024 award-winning animated short film _Remember Us,_ and the animation short film _Saq Nikté and the Spirit of the Mask_ that is currently screening across film festivals worldwide.
