The Wallis, Beverly Hills
**_Music @ The Wallis is generously made possible by Terri and Jerry Kohl._** **Ryuichi Sakamoto** was a composer of breathtaking range—an artist who scored the emotions of entire generations. From the Oscar-winning grandeur of _The Last Emperor_ to the aching intimacy of _Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence_, his music was both deeply personal and profoundly cinematic. In this powerful live tribute, the **Bang on a Can All-Stars** breathe new life into Sakamoto’s iconic _**1996**_ album. With arrangements by Ken Thomson, the ensemble reimagines selections from some of his most unforgettable works, including _The Sheltering Sky, Wuthering Heights_, and more. This is a celebration of legacy—a chance to experience Sakamoto’s music as it was never heard before: raw, intimate, and alive. With each movement, the All-Stars honor a visionary who composed without boundaries and dreamed in sound. They don’t just perform Sakamoto’s music. They invite us into his world. * * * Read safety information [here](https://thewallis.org/safety).
