Pehrspace presents BEAM SPLITTER and friends. Instead of having traditional openers, BEAM SPLITTER has been organizing a series called Dedicated Play where they perform several shorter sets with guests. http://beamsplitter.org/dedicatedplay They will be performing with MA Tiesenga and Neil 'Cloaca' Young for this night. ∆ BEAM SPLITTER is a Berlin-based duo for amplified voice, trombone and analog electronics. Since forming in 2015, they have been touring globally, playing over two hundred concerts in everything from dingy basements to grand halls, including shaking the dinosaur bones of Kyiv's Museum of Natural history in 2023. Bringing their own brand of highly amplified dialog, which is as intimate as it is equal parts raw and entirely exposed, they join together their two individual voices into a distinct language that delves beyond the borders of the corporeal elements of un-processed voice and trombone, while utilizing analog electronics to offset their hyper-extended physical play. Since 2020, they have been organizing DEDICATED PLAY — an ongoing artistic project and concert series — collaborating with a wide range of artists from around the world, many of them from diasporic backgrounds. The most recent iteration of the project came in the form of the Dedicated play festival, curated with Hyunhye Angela Seo from Xiu Xiu and performed over six days in Berlin and London, featuring a line-up of Seo and Jamie Stewart, in addition to artists like Tashi Dorji, Thom Nguyen, Victoria Shen, Che Chen, Alex Zhang Hungtai and Susie Ibarra.
