California African American Museum (CAAM), Los Angeles
Inspired by *Willie Birch: Stories to Tell*, this workshop invites participants of all ages to slow down, look closely, and reflect through hands-on making. Birch often treats the frame as part of the artwork itself by extending pattern, color, and meaning beyond the central image. Participants will draw or collage a moment from their own lives, then design a decorated frame that helps tell the story. Visitors may join at any time and leave with artwork to take home. Design Hive is a Los Angeles–based creative education studio that designs hands-on maker workshops and STEAM experiences for museums, schools, and community organizations. All ages and abilities are welcome. Free RSVP is encouraged, but not required. Walk-ins welcome. Bringing a large group? Email the CAAM team at iDesk@caamuseum.org.
