The Wallis, Beverly Hills

**_Music @ The Wallis is generously made possible by Terri and Jerry Kohl._** Kevin John Edusei, CONDUCTOR Sieun Park, CELLO Under the baton of celebrated conductor **Kevin John Edusei**, the **Colburn Orchestra** returns to The Wallis. The evening begins with _Schelomo_, **Ernest Bloch**’s dramatic _Rhapsodie Hébraïque_ for cello and orchestra. Soloist **Sieun Park** portrays a modern-day King Solomon, who navigates a richly textured soundscape representing the allure of beauty and temptation. In the second half, **Smetana**’s _Má vlast_ (“My Country”) pays tribute to his Czech homeland. This beloved set of symphonic poems evokes in vivid color the Romantic spirit of land and legend. Remarkably, it was composed just after Smetana lost his hearing, and contains his most famous melody, “The Moldau.” Anchored in excellence and powered by a new generation of talent, the Colburn Orchestra continues to captivate audiences with the precision and passion of their every note. _The Colburn Orchestra is generously underwritten by Eva and Marc Stern._ * * * **PROGRAM** Ernest Bloch, _Schelomo: Rhapsodie Hébraïque_ Smetana, _Má vlast_ * * * Read safety information [here](https://thewallis.org/safety).
