Deathstalker, an ex-soldier who answers to no one, roams the Kingdom of Abraxion, scavenging and stealing. When he’s attacked by a Dreadite seeking an amulet he stole from a dying soldier on the battlefield, he decides to get rid of the artifact – only to discover that the amulet has latched onto him. In his quest to undo the curse, he reluctantly pairs up with Brisbayne, a thief extraordinaire, and Doodad, a wizard who is small in stature but great in wisdom. Doodad reveals that Necromemnon, a dark sorcerer whose only desire is to bring the world to its knees, is hunting for the amulet. The trio of unwilling adventurers becomes the last hope for Abraxion. We always get a rush of pure excitement when we hear that Steven Kostanski is working on a new film. After MANBORG, THE VOID, PSYCHO GOREMAN, and FRANKIE FREAKO – all of which have played at Fantastic Fest – Kostanski dives into Sword & Sorcery by rebooting James Sbardellati’s 1983 cult classic of the same name. Featuring epic two-headed ghouls, goofy flying creatures, flesh-ripping demons, and a perfectly balanced comedic tone, DEATHSTALKER is a feast for the eyes. With Patton Oswalt voicing Doodad, and Swiss actor Daniel Bernhardt (an actor and stuntman known for MATRIX RELOADED, JOHN WICK, and ATOMIC BLONDE) starring in the title role, DEATHSTALKER once again proves that Kostanski is a master at blending his special effects and makeup artistry with a sharp eye for the genre projects fans crave.
