This rural murder mystery is one of Italian cult favorite Lucio Fulci's most successfully atmospheric and intense, with more than a few shocks thrown in to goose the audience. When dead kids start popping up around a sleepy and very Catholic Italian village, the police are stymied and the locals think it's a witch (Florinda Bolkan who previously starred in Fulci's LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN), but a determined newspaperman (the handsome Tomas Milian of many Italian crime and western movies) and the daughter of a wealthy family (Barbara Bouchet). DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING counterbalances a completely trashy, sometimes sleazy, always tasteless plot with a very artful use of setting to set mood and tone. You will feel the heat. You will not believe the ending!
