Scribble, Los Angeles
Ethan Snyder is a Los Angeles–based drummer, improviser, and bandleader making music that moves fluidly between jazz, experimental fusion, ambient textures, and collective improvisation. Rooted in groove, spontaneity, and deep listening, his work treats songs as open frameworks for interaction and reinterpretation. His latest album brings together David Binney, Jeff Parker, Chris Speed, Frederico Heliodoro, Logan Kane, Henry Solomon, and others to reimagine music by John Coltrane, Bill Frisell, Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, and Aphex Twin through a groove-driven, collaborative lens. Originally from Vermont, Snyder has toured internationally with the rock band Warbly Jets and the boundary-pushing jazz/electronic group Moon Hooch. His collaborative work includes two albums with saxophonist Aaron Burnett (Esperanza Spalding, Corinne Bailey Rae) and a release with trombonist Scott Flynn (Pretty Lights, ODESZA). He is also a founding member of the experimental ensemble WHOARFROST and the Vermont-based groups Breathwork and EVNGwear. Doors at 8pm Advance tickets available here .
