The Flux Screening Series brings the creative community together for a night of outstanding short films and music videos, featuring wildly inventive filmmaker presentations and performances. Whether you traveled far this season or stayed close to home, our summer program will take you on a journey—from the creative hubs of the US and UK to vibrant work from South Korea, Colombia, Ghana, and Mexico. In Fogata by Astropical—the new supergroup formed by Colombian stars Bomba Estéreo and Venezuelan breakout band Rawayana—filmmaker Paola Ossa captures a summer romance sparked by unresolved feelings between former best friends. Craig Ainsley’s Everyone Does It turns a one-night stand into a hilariously unexpected misadventure. Anchoring the program is Anna Khaja’s Headbang, a powerful American perspective on the hijab and female empowerment. Filmmaker-musician Lola Blanc wrote, directed, and stars in Everybody, a darkly funny take on the lengths artists will go for love. The multi-hyphenate Eno returns to the Hammer with a surprise-filled short, while Erin Murray’s Table for Two casts Los Angeles alongside Aron! and comedian Sethward. British artist Christian Saint journeys to his native Ghana for his cinematic epic Sundiata, telling the story of the 13th-century founder of the Mali Empire through Fuse ODG’s performance, striking visuals, and poetry by Suli Breaks. Gabriel Moses’ Chains & Whips for Clipse offers a mesmerizing portrait of the Black American experience. The lineup spans comedy, dance, drama, animation, and music videos for Danna, Katseye, Rival Consoles, Tsunaina, and more. Special guests include Anna Khaja, Eno, Erin Murray, Lola Blanc, and Paola Ossa, followed by a courtyard after-party with DJ Friki Fran.
