Hammer Museum, Los Angeles
Joining us in person: **Jaime Gerin, Aaron Rose, Nicholas Shaya, Cat Solen, Aidan Weaver**, and **Matt Wisner**. Followed by a courtyard after-party with a special guest DJ. The Flux Screening Series brings the creative community together for a night of outstanding short films and music videos, featuring wildly inventive filmmaker presentations and performances. Our summer program features both music videos that broke the internet (but are now enjoyed on the Hammer's giant cinema screen) as well as unexpected short film and video gems that will likely become your new favorites. Director** Cat Solen** has been focused on television projects since we screened her last music video in 2019 (the incredible Tierra Whack video *Unemployed*). We're happy that** Olivia Rodrigo** cajoled her back to music videos, collaborating with her creative director **Jaime Gerin** on a beautifully handcrafted video for* The Cure*. We're excited to screen **Aidan Weaver**'s atmospheric mystery *A Crime Across Four Landscapes*, which premiered at this year's Tribeca Festival. Hot off his fantastic short film **Swim Lessons**, filmmaker Matt Wisner will join us to share his music video debut *Knifefish *for LA-based artist Oxis. Director-artist-curator-writer** Aaron Rose** returns to Flux to premiere *The Ego Has Landed *for the artist TRZTN, which Aaron describes as "a metaphor for identity crisis in the modern world." New York-based filmmaker and photographer **Nicholas Shaya** will present *Rotelle*, the story of a bicycle in the big city. The summer lineup spans comedy, dance, drama, animation, and music videos for** Gener8ion, PartyOf2, Rich the Kid, Tamino, Zwangere Guy**, and more.
