Late Breakfast is proud to present duo and trio performances from some of improvisational music’s finest. gabby fluke-mogul and Lily Finnegan first treat Los Angeles to their explosive violin & drums duo, Throw It In The Sink. Then, to close out the night, LA’s own Patrick Shiroishi will join them for a trio performance. ∆ Throw it in the Sink (gabby fluke-mogul & Lily Finnegan) is Finnegan and fluke-mogul’s duo project dedicated to the queer punk rock and avant jazz musicians of the expansive continuum past, present, and future. A prayer, a scream, a steadfast commitment - they weave together improvised song through drum, violin, and voice. On their 2024 release off Norwegian label, Sonic Transmissions, Stash Dauber writes, “One has to go all the way back to William Parker and Hamid Drake's 2001 outing, Piercing the Veil, to find a duo recording this engaging…” With recent performances at Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene in Oslo and Rhizome in D.C., Throw it in the Sink performs in concert and facilitate workshops internationally. Patrick Shiroishi is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, composer & poet based in Los Angeles.
