Vidiots, Los Angeles
**Screenwriter**: Allison Anders **Producers**: Daniel Hassid, Ruth Charny Vidiots is thrilled to welcome cinema legends **Alison Anders** and **Illeana Douglas** for a special 30th Anniversary Screening of ***Grace of my Heart***! A marvelously meandering musical excursion through the hitmakers of the New York City music scene of the 1950s and 1960s, Alison Anders’ *Grace of my Heart* hits all the right notes, with a vibrant beat all its own. Illeana Douglas shines as Denise Waverly, a Philadelphia teen with stars in her eyes set to make it big in the Big Apple. While her own stardom withers early on, a slick producer recognizes her talent in songwriting and sets her off on a different path, crafting the hits behind the biggest stars of the day. After decades in the shadows – from the Doo Wop era to Rock n’ Roll and into the swingin’ 60s – she finally finds her time to shine. A fun and frenetic view of the male-dominated music scene and the tenacity of one woman to make her own way, this charmer is as fresh as it was 30 years ago. **Picks from the Video Store** Check out our Allison Anders director’s section and take home more treasures on physical media! *Gas Food Lodging, Mi Vida Loca, Border Radio* **Accessibility Options**: Amplified Audio, please see the box office for devices.
