Stuffed to the gills with sublime monster effects that rival John Carpenter’s THE THING, hyperblast gags that feel like they escaped from a deranged *Looney Tunes* cartoon, and relentless chaos, GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH is sheer joy. This is the exact movie that you’d hope to see after watching the viral *Key & Peele* skit that reimagined the project’s wild origins. And we’re forever grateful for that.
