Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Tang currently studies History and Jazz Performance at Columbia University and The Juilliard School in New York City. At nineteen-years of age, Tang is one of the brightest young voices in the international jazz scene. She has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Sean Jones, DeeDee Bridgewater, and Rufus Reid, and was featured on Joshua Redman’s latest album, *Words Fall Short*. Her music is about finding peace and chosen community within the frustration of being a young person in today’s world. Tang’s thoughtful composition and her quartet’s elegant delivery cultivate an atmosphere that welcomes and affirms the listener. In her free time, Tang enjoys making collages and longboarding. Skyler Tang’s *Make Jazz Fellowship* residency is generously supported by the Herb Alpert Foundation.
