Join us EVERY SUNDAY for a rotating selection of the best in LA's Jazz Music scene, and stay late for our Sunday residency with Kevin Kanner's Jazz Jam. Musicians who want to jam get in free with an instrument after 9pm (one drink minimum). This Sunday features **Highland Park Jazz** playing a post-bop era of jazz, composers like Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Joe Sample etc. Great jazz of the 70s and beyond is often overlooked, or crowded out by older classic jazz. This era was the transition into fusion jazz, and we like to play on that bridge, sometimes funky, with contemporary drum grooves, but still embracing improvisation. Modern jazz with a funky twist. @highland\_park\_jazz The Band: **Joel Shryack-**Tenor & Soprano Sax - Coming from a musical family, introduced to jazz as a young boy, I have been playing, somewhat independently all my life, all forms of jazz, latin jazz, pop, funk & rock. I am inspired by the music of my age, 70s,80s and beyond. Currently studying privately, and gigging around this area. IG: jshryac **Alex Ramirez**\-Bass. Received a scholarship and degree in Doublebass from Pepperdine University, currently a director of the music programs at Marshall High School in Silverlake (Los Angeles). Plays both Acoustic Bass and Electric, avid composer and also has an affinity for post-bop jazz, latin jazz, fusion jazz. IG: alex\_ram\_music **Ethan Gonzales**\-Keyboard - Currently studying music at Cal State Northridge (CSUN). Very talented in all genres of jazz, and also a composer and arranger. **Joel Domantay** \- Drums - A modern gigging drummer, currently playing with the Dead Marley Matthews band, as well as gigging with many Fusion, Pop, Soul, and Rock bands.
