**Laena Myers** sings like a siren beckoning lost sailors- not to their deaths but to safe haven. She aims for the heart, braiding together sticky vines, reflected light from the North Star, and rare minerals she mines from deep within herself to build seafaring ships. Her electric guitar guides the way home, with violin ribbons flickering in and out from the periphery. Although her 2024 critically acclaimed album LUV (Songs of Yesterday) was the fist released under her name, this music is the culmination of many years of musical devotion and frenzied activity. Visit www.LaenaSounds.com to read up on her band history and work as a singer, songwriter, classically trained violinist, bass player, guitarist and all-around musician. 2026 finds Laena Myers immersed in writing her sophomore solo album. For this special live performance at Gold Diggers she emerges to share her most beloved released songs as well as the fruits of her recent excavations, some never-before heard. Known for her smoked out alto vocals, Strickland creates guitar driven music that attempts to walk the line between arrogance and tenderness, delivering raw and thoughtful tracks that lure in even the most prudent listener. Her sophomore EP, “Martha’s Calling” was released March 7, 2025 via Good Eye Records. The 5-song project tells the story of breaking apart and coming back together, going from a separated self to a fully realized one. It's a project about self-realization and solitude. “Martha’s Calling” has received praise from Atwood Magazine, Under the Radar, Obscure Sound, and more. **MJ Upstairs** was obsessed with GarageBand as a kid. The immersive process of layering her voice into angsty demos on the family computer led her first to choir freakdom, then to Philadelphia. Her mesmerizing blend of lush vocals, distorted guitars, and hypnotic rhythmic loops expanded beyond basement shows into releases like Exhibitionist, This is About You, and b sides. Her sophomore album, Like a Stain, Pink, was recorded between Good Listeners in Philly and the floor of her Brooklyn bedroom. Intimate, anthemic, poetic, all messed up. MJ has carved herself a lyrical niche. IG: @mjupstairs
