Ledbyher (born Rachel Diack, affectionately known as ‘Rachy’) is a 21-year-old independent artist, producer, songstress, and creative director. Her Indonesian and Scottish heritage has given her a unique, global perspective on art, shaping her creative approach. After living in multiple countries during her early years, she recently made the move from her long-time rural Norfolk home to the heart of central London, where she continues to evolve as an artist. Rachel’s musical journey began in an unconventional way. By 15, Rachel was selling beats online, producing entire projects for other artists, and developing an underground following in the digital space. It was when she discovered Drill music that everything changed. Though raised in the English countryside, far from the genre’s birthplace, Rachel embraced the raw energy of drill, blending it with her own British accent and lyrical honesty. This marked the beginning of her genre-defying style. Her breakthrough moment came when, in collaboration with Jack—a high school friend and her first major creative partner—Rachel fused Drill beats with a Norwegian folk track. The unexpected success of this combination laid the foundation for what would later become her signature sound. Her genre, dubbed ‘Bedroom Drill’, is a distinctive mix of gritty drill percussion with lo-fi, bedroom pop sensibilities. Her sound integrates soulful melodies, skippy beats, and emotionally transparent lyrics.
