### **ABOUT THE FILM:** *In French with English subtitles.* *Between a script and a film, there is a whole territory to cross.* *LES ANNÉES 80 is the time spent in this territory.* *A love battle with reality and its elements: actors, singers and dancers bound and constrained by a story in a set under a light crossed by music.* *How, between the script (which is always unrepresentable) and its future performance, the different elements of reality gradually come together to make a film. How to turn reality into fiction.* *We shot 40 hours of ¾-inch video with 4 different cameras. We edited this into a one-hour film in which only the actors who would be taking part in GOLDEN EIGHTIES appeared.* *We then transferred this cut to 1-inch film which we transferred to a 16mm negative from which we printed a 35mm positive (without using an internegative).* FORMAT: DCP DISTRIBUTOR: Chantal Akerman Foundation COUNTRY: France/Belgium
