Bitzer completed production while transitioning from Biograph’s legendary New York studio to California, where the American film industry would soon establish its permanent home. Newmeyer, 74 Mins, Paramount, USA** The plot revolves around Jack Stone (Richard Dix), whose father (Harry Beresford) vowed that he would not leave Colton College until his team defeats its archrival, State University. Unfortunately, they lose, year after year after year. Rather than graduate, the father keeps his promise and remains enrolled for the next 27 years. By the 1920s, he is an aging perpetual student attending classes alongside his son Jack, who becomes the school’s new quarterback.
