**lowercase** **Shearling** lowercase is a post-rock slowcore band that was started by Imaad Wasif (vocals/guitar) and Brian Girgus (drums) in the Southern California desert. They released numerous singles and 3 full length LP’s between 1993-2000 on the seminal labels Amphetamine Reptile, Punk in My Vitamins, and Kill Rock Stars. They played shows and toured with Unwound, Sebadoh, Palace Brothers, Dirty Three, Hovercraft, Brainiac, Red Crayola and Faith No More. The band had been on hiatus since 2000 and reunited in January of 2025. Known for on stage exorcisms and minimalist counterpoint, the vocals, the riffs and the resulting sound is a contrast of extremes and emotion.
