Vidiots, Los Angeles
**Screenwriters**: Emilio Carballido, Roberto Galvadón **Producer**: Armando Orive Alba Vidiots is celebrating **Día de los Muertos** with a whole day of spirited programming, activities, and surprises. A rich folk-tale fantasy deeply entrenched in the folklore of Día de los Muertos, Macario is a haunting gem of Mexican and world cinema with stunning visuals and a dark mysticism. Poor, hungry peasant Macario longs for just one good meal on the Day of the Dead. After his wife cooks a turkey for him, he meets three apparitions, the Devil, God, and Death who each ask for a piece of his dinner. From who will he accept the bargain, and what price will he have to pay? The first Mexican film to be nominated for an Academy Award, this supernatural drama is not to be missed on the big screen. Macario was restored by The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project and Fundación Televisa at L’Immagine Ritrovata in collaboration with Filmoteca UNAM and in association with Televisa S. de R.L. de C.V. Funding was provided by the Golden Globe Foundation, a generous supporter of Vidiots Foundation. **Día de los Muertos** Join us all day for lotería, crafts, and more fun from 11:00am – 7:30pm.
