Saturday, November 14th | 6PM–8PM 18th Street Arts Center, Santa Monica 1629 Studio #2 Free + Open to the Public Mendhi Nights: Libraries Share something from your personal library. Mehndi Nights is a series of intimate gatherings by London-based artist Banita Mistry, bringing people together through conversation, music, food and the craft of henna (mehndi). For Libraries, everyone is invited to bring one thing to share: — a passage you’d like to read aloud or — a piece of music you’d like everyone to hear It can be something you’ve loved for years, something you’ve only just discovered, something obscure, sentimental, strange, beautiful, or simply something you think other people should know about. We’ll spend the evening listening, reading and talking. Guests will also contribute to a small collective painting in henna, creating a record of the evening together. No expertise required. No presentation needed. Just bring something you’d like to add to the library. BYOB + snacks to share always welcome.
