Set in a high-rise apartment, Ph.D student Kallia and fledgling-rapper Ram (Shaw and Kamalakanthan) endure sleepless nights with their newborn baby, while Kallia’s mother (who lives one floor below) looks to end their problems with a Greek rite of passage: to exorcise their family from the evil eye. With a Cassavetes-like inclination to turn the camera on themselves and their loved ones—including their actual baby and parents—Shaw and Kamalakanthan’s fearless, intimate comedy establishes them among the freshest and most inventive young American filmmakers working today.
