Mochilla's Like No One is Watching

Friday, June 19, 2026 at 7:30 PM to 11:45 PM

2220 Arts + Archives, Los Angeles

Legendary production house Mochilla presents *…like no one is watching…* unseen films and unheard music. Films curated by photographer/filmmaker B+ (Brian Cross) and conversation with B+, Harmony Holliday, Mychal Odum and Sam Lemontayne. Followed by DJ sets by DJ Nuts (Cultura Copia), Waajeed (Dirt Wreck), Cut Chemist (Stable Sound), Francesca Harding (KCRW) and Carol Ueno (SP). ~ A word from B+: *So I never celebrate birthdays. A quiet meal with friends is usually enough… however this year hits different. So in the interest of community and taking an opportunity to speak to my work and the work of Mochilla and with the graceful help of 2220 Arts and Archives, we have cooked up a night for the ages.* **Unseen Films** The night will begin (7:30 - 9:30) with a celebration of the work of B+ particularly some of the less-seen or unseen film works. B+ will be in conversation with Sam LeMontayne, Mychal Odum and Harmony Holiday. Rare, unreleased and even some works in progress will be shown followed by a Q&A. ~ **Unheard Music** Following the discussion the screen will be pulled up and some of the greatest DJs alive (also all collaborators with Mochilla) will bring their curation to the stage with an emphasis on music rarely heard. Headlining and back in Los Angeles for the first time in more than ten years is São Paulo’s very own DJ Nuts. A rare combination of insane research and grade A turntable skills. Waajeed (or Jeedo to his friends) is the founder of the Underground Music Academy in Detroit and a veteran of its deep musical legacy. Close friend of Dilla, member of the Platinum Pied Pipers and owner of DirtWreck records. World class dj and producer! Cut Chemist needs no introduction in Los Angeles. Member of Jurassic 5, legendary producer and digger and someone with a craving for the unexpected. No doubt he will have some surprises for us… Francesca Harding is a wonderful dj, host and radio personality on KCRW. She is a long time dj in LA known for her international tastes driven no doubt by her Panamanian roots! Carol Ueno is one of São Paulo’s most sought after djs. She plays regularly in the bustling and competitive SP nightlife. She has a soft spot for all things Japanese and her knowledge of Brazilian music of the 80s is tough! We have one more special guest but we can’t announce them due to a performance embargo! ~ There is a second room with more guest selectors to be announced! There will be Hit + Run custom screen services. Limited Mochilla merch.
