The Wende Museum, Culver City
*Music/Words LA* continues its second season at the Wende with *Bagatelles, Memories, Magical Creatures*. Former Los Angeles Poet Laureate Lynne Thompson returns to the Wende to read alongside pianists Inna Faliks and Gabrielle Sipen. Faliks plays Richard Danielpour's *Bagatelles*, a suite of childhood memories from her new album. Sipen premieres *Five Hebrew Creatures Suite* by UCLA composer Yoni Fogelman. The two pianists then share one keyboard for an early four-hand piece by Arnold Schoenberg. Founded by Faliks in New York, *Music/Words* is a platform for artists working where music and text meet. This Los Angeles residency at the Wende builds each program around close listening and live collaboration. **Inna Faliks** is Head of Piano and Professor of Piano at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and author of *Weight in the Fingertips: A Musical Odyssey from Soviet Ukraine to the World Stage*. **Gabrielle Sipen **is a pianist, a recent Doctor of Musical Arts graduate of UCLA, and winner of first prize in the professional category of the XIV International Chopin Competition in Hartford, Connecticut. **Lynne Thompson **is a former Los Angeles Poet Laureate and the author of four poetry collections, most recently* Blue on a Blue Palette.* *As this event takes place during museum open hours, guests may check in at the front of the museum. The garden side gate will open 30 minutes before the start time and is available for ADA access and check-in. Theater doors open 15 minutes before the start time. Seating is first come, first served.
