Scribble, Los Angeles
This summer NECOLA held two week-long adult Chamber Music Workshops at Heart of LA, each with a BrandenBurgerQ in Atwater Village and a recital. For Schubertiade, we're coming together to share our large ensemble pieces and invite our friends to join in, with Mozart's Don Giovanni Overture, Sibelius' Death of Melisande, Schubert's Octet for winds and strings, and two of his songs arranged for sinfonietta. NECOLA (Northeast Chamber Orchestra Los Angeles) is a nonprofit increasing access to the art of chamber music and chamber orchestra for musicians and listeners of all stripes. With programs like Symphony Saturdays (one-day open orchestras), workshops and Schubertiades (salon concerts), NECOLA is creating spaces where anyone can participate in an art form that is too often exclusionary, and where joy and enthusiasm are the only requirements. As Beethoven said, "To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable." Doors at 7:30pm $12 Tickets available here !
