Strangers Olivia and Amir both arrive coincidentally at their friend Teddy’s to collect money he owes them. Each desperate for cash, they follow Teddy’s orders to visit an elusive Harlem figure, Uptown Mike, to get the cash. Waiting for Mike to arrive home, Olivia and Amir are stuck on a journey together through NYC: on the subway, eating lunch, walking through Central Park, all while bonding over disagreements about sex, dating, religion, and death.
