## *Stray Dog Hydrophobia * Hear from Art + Technology Lab grant recipients Patty Chang and David Kelley at a special musical performance alongside a presentation of their film *Stray Dog Hydrophobia*, which situates deep sea mining within the longer histories of colonialism, slavery, extraction, and geoengineering. Surrounded by four projections, a live chorus of vocalists, percussionists, and horn players will synchronously perform a composition for the film amongst the audience conducted by Yasna Yamaoka Vismale, who created the score of *Stray Dog Hydrophobia *and who will also perform live. Vismale’s composition features her own ethereal vocals, Afro-Jamaican drum rhythms, free jazz, and West African music. After a brief introduction, guests will be able to circulate throughout the installation as the performance unfolds on LACMA's Smidt Welcome Plaza. Seating will also be provided. Chang and Kelley's [exhibition](https://www.artcenter.edu/connect/events/our-abyssal-kin.html) at ArtCenter College of Design is also open through January 2026.
