Vidiots, Los Angeles

**Screenwriter**: Arthur Laurents from the play by Patrick Hamilton **Producers**: Sidney Bernstein, Alfred Hitchcock Loosely inspired by the “crime of the century,” the brutal thrill-killing of Bobby Franks by Leopold and Loeb, Alfred Hitchcock’s *Rope* is both a true crime and reclaimed Queer classic. Two friends attempt to prove they committed the perfect murder by hosting a dinner for the family of a classmate they strangled to death. Shot as one take (although craftily stitched together from 4 long takes) the taut terror commences in real-time. While the characters in the original play were explicitly homosexual, censorship in 1940s Hollywood only allowed for gay subtext and coding. **Movie Den** is a community initiative generously supported by **Golden Globe Foundation.****** All tickets come with a free small popcorn.
