Silk Road Secret Agents: KÁRYYN + RIŽIK

Friday, May 15, 2026 at 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM

2220 Arts + Archives, Los Angeles

On May 15th, Silk Road Secret Agents makes a triumphant return to 2220 Arts + Archives for an intimate, full sit-down show with two Armenian and Palestinian artists who push the boundaries of ethnic and sonic identity. Arrive prepared to share a cerebral experience and listen deeply as KÁRYYN and RIŽIK re-interpret their old and new songs in a dynamic and improvisational manner, with full analog equipment, creating a unique state of presence and self-awareness that we cordially invite you to participate in. Leading up to her next album release “PHYSICS UNIVERSAL LOVE LANGUAGE (PULL)" on Mute Records, this live performance by KÁRYYN will revolve around breaking down the architectural foundations of her compositions and rewiring them in a manner inspired by the work of pioneering Post-WWII composer Pauline Oliveros. In this spirit, the evening will not only be a live concert but also a unique opportunity to hear KÁRYYN’s musical soliloquies in their most raw forms and appropriate intentions. The mood for the evening will be established by Los Angeles-based artist RIŽIK; working with an immersive instrument known as “THE MACHINE” - a physical system of analog synthesizers, drum machines, and signal processors designed for live creation, RIŽIK’s creative philosophy is led by the mantra “Tame the Machine” as he explores what it means to remain human in an increasingly artificial world. Event hosts Discotchari will also be playing old and new experimental sounds from their record collection, rooted in various folklores and technological styles.
