Heavy Manners Library, Los Angeles

A re-interpretation of the archive featuring recent projects, quietly unreleased material and new exercises in print. Meant to stretch the capacity beyond habituated tendencies and the often rigid pathways of hyper-freelance, re-contextualizing preparing works for the exhibit as a series of exercises feels so refreshing at this time. Being directly influenced by the conventions of pop-art, left-field ephemera, dated editorials and publication design, the intention is to present a series to accentuate the space for all those attending events and browsing the library. Works will be presented in medium format, combining photo-centric and hand-painted elements through a consistent silkscreen process. I hope you will come to your own understanding, and that there may be aspects you can appreciate if you have the chance to visit in person. On view at Heavy Manners Library from March 12,2026 until April 12,2026. Bio : Material Group is a screen-printing and design studio located in Montreal, Quebec (Canada).
