**DIVERSE MUSICAL GENRES FEATURING ARTISTS DRIVING CONTEMPORARY NATIVE CULTURE** Experience the special exhibition [***Jeffrey Gibson: the space in which to place me***](https://www.thebroad.org/art/special-exhibitions/jeffrey-gibson-space-which-place-me) after hours and groove to the beat between two performance stages on two levels of the museum. With musicians selected to complement Gibson’s vibrant artworks and converse with his powerful themes, ***PAST + FUTURE = PRESENT, Pt. 2** *features **Angélica Garcia**, Mexican-American “high priestess with a synth and a killer sixth sense” (*Spin Magazine*) and **M’lynn**, a Dallas-born Cherokee Nation soul singer whose smooth and sultry vibes make even a summer night seem cool, on the lobby stage. Upstairs in Oculus Hall, Red Lake Ojibwe** Joe Rainey** combines traditional pow wow singing with techno, industrial, hip hop, dub, and noise, followed by a high-energy DJ set by **deesco**, Teme-Augama Anishnabai club maven, closes out the night. Come for the music, stay for the vibes. Sip on handcrafted cocktails and zero-proof drinks by Chicas on The Rocks and grab a bite from local chef and culinary innovator Nelson Lee’s mini-Airstream trailer on East West Bank Plaza. Your perfect summer night at The Broad awaits! ***PAST + FUTURE = PRESENT, Pt. 1 ***and*** Pt. 2 ***feature a thoughtfully selected lineup of musicians who have made their mark on the club, concert, and tour circuits within the past decade, channeling a liberatory future through music and powerful performances that honor culture and ancestry. Throughout the two-part festival-style series, hip hop, experimental, pow wow, indie, electronic, and soul music coexist like the vibrant and inspirational words and colors in Jeffrey Gibson’s *PAST + FUTURE = PRESENT* (2024) and other artworks on view in his exhibition.
