Scribble, Los Angeles

Saturday, May 9 2-3:30 $20 per class SwimFlyCrawl is a therapeutic movement practice born out of a global pandemic. In the years since its inception, it has helped practitioners process issues such as grief, body dysmorphia, and sexual trauma as well as learn deep listening, connect to joy, and find self-love through the wisest of intelligence systems: the body. The practice is spiritual cousin to both 5 Rhythms and Ecstatic Dance. There’s no choreography. No partnering. Just you, deepening your own conversation with your body. In addition, part of what makes SwimFlyCrawl unique is that the musical experience is fully informed by the group itself – a “hive mind” creation inspired by brief surveys filled out by participants before class. One week we may BreatheRageRelease…another we may TwirlSwirlPlay! So come as you are, and we’ll Swim, Fly, and Crawl our way through…together. SwimFlyCrawl is the brainchild of facilitator Martha Marion (she/her), AMFT. A therapist and facilitator with a long career in the performing arts, Martha’s mission for healing and wholeing integrates embodiment practices, expressive arts, and psychotherapy. Class recommended 16+. Trauma-informed. All genders, all bodies, all states of joy/grief//curiosity welcome! We can accommodate mobility constraints. Advance tickets available here .
