Deathbomb Arc Records celebrates the release of *Farming* \[Ted Hearne, The Crossing, Donald Nally\], with a screening of a new film scored to the album, followed by a performance by Ted Hearne, Taylor Levine (guitar) and Rohan Chander aka BAKUDI SCREAM (electronics and keyboards). *Farming* is an uncategorizable album -- an unholy marriage of ersatz Americana, digitally altered choral arrangements (featuring the incredible Philadelphia-based choir The Crossing), and hyperpop’s synapse-frying maximalism -- inverting technology’s smoothing impulses in favor of an unwieldy, knotty expression of modern ennui and alienation. \[available here from Deathbomb Arc: https://deathbombarc.bandcamp.com/album/farming \] The New York Times called Farming "a suggestive, chaotically ambitious, often poignant reflection on colonization, consumption, marketing, entrepreneurship.” NPR called it "twitchy, allusive, often synthetic and surrealistic. It delivers what I can only describe as a full sensory overload."
