If a horror movie took place inside of the music video for Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box,” it would feel a lot like THE CELL. Psychologist Catherine Deane (Jennifer Lopez) has developed an experimental virtual reality treatment for coma patients. But when she enters the brain of a comatose serial killer (Vincent D'Onofrio, Daredevil), Deane melts into a terrifying dreamscape that short-circuits her life. Directed by Indian filmmaker Tarsem Singh and featuring gorgeous costume design from Eiko Ishioka (BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA), THE CELL is an acid-drenched spectacle that should only ever be experienced on the big screen.
