TreePeople and The Broad Join TreePeople and The Broad at Coldwater Canyon Park for the launch of The Plants of Tovaangar, a new interactive audio tour and self-guided experience celebrating the Tongva names of native plants. Get ready to plant native shrubs, trees, and flowers with us along our scenic Oak Mesa trail, and learn about the deep significance of this project. The morning kicks off at 9:00AM with a guided community planting, followed by an 11:30AM panel discussion with Tongva elder and language researcher Virginia Carmelo and special guests. After the panel discussion, enjoy a walking tour of the new native plant trail and a reception with light refreshments. We’re inviting Angelenos to connect with the stories, language, and plants of the land! The Plants of Tovaangar project was developed with support from The Broad and Arts in California Parks.
