This thought-provoking debut horror from writer/director Jane Schoenbrun just might be the most honest portrayal of teenage isolation in the internet age ever put to film. Soon the game begins to blend the lines between her online and offline life in horrifying and heart-breaking ways. Jane Schoenbrun takes this creepypasta concept and elevates it to dizzying heights, delivering a thoughtful, authentic, and unsettling look at a young life lived entirely online. Anna Cobb carries the film on her young shoulders as essentially the only cast member, at least IRL. WE’RE ALL GOING TO THE WORLD’S FAIR is jarring, mesmerizing, and casts an empathetic light on an entire generation just looking for connection.
