**You, Me, + the Whales Sextet** **Two Point (Sharada Shashidhar + Caleb Buchanan)** Little Mango Recordings presents the album release show for You, Me, + the Whales Sextet, celebrating their new record You are in a Kitchen Filled with Plants as the Sun Streams Inwards, with a special opening set by Two Point (Sharada Shashidhar + Caleb Buchanan). Experimental jazz collective You, Me, + the Whales Sextet, who made waves in the creative music community with innovative live performances across Los Angeles, will release their long-awaited album, You are in a Kitchen Filled with Plants as the Sun Streams Inwards, out May 29, 2026. Two brothers lead the effort and contribute compositions: Zac Burgenbauch, who bends and picks electric and lap steel guitar with north Indian influences, and Devin Burgenbauch, fiery upright bassist and field recording artist. Saxophone player David Otis of the contemporary jazz band Katalyst is joined by the likes of vibraphonist and performance artist M A Harms whose text- and identity-inspired works are a hallmark of the LA creative performance scene. Drummer Lucas Lenny grounds the current with rhythmic west-African-inspired grooves and a melodic jazz touch, while experimental harpist Elif Dinçer weaves enigmatic and textured waves. An experimental jazz group that brings together American primitive guitar textures with spiritual jazz, open improvisations, field recordings, microtonal drones, and a lot of bells. Merging ambient soundscapes, jazz-inspired harmonies, and the blend of folk and electronic instrumentation, Two Point is the duo outfit by Los Angeles-based musicians Sharada Shashidhar and Caleb Buchanan. While their debut Bandcamp album, Duo Session (Part 1), highlights their free, improvised approach, paired with a maverick use of live effect pedals, their compositional depth shines in through-composed songs, like “Ghostly”, their contribution to Leaving Records’ benefit compilation, Staying: Leaving Records Aid to Artists Impacted by The Los Angeles Wildfires. Join us for an early evening of exploratory jazz, resonant tones, and open improvisation unfolding in real time.
